A LOVE STORY THAT NEVER WAS

(I  found this poem I’ve written back in college days.  It was scrawled at the back of my columnar notebook*, in all fairness, haha! I guess this was written when I realized the person I want to be with had found “someone” else (sigh!).  It was untitled though. ..)

I yearn for the little moments with you I had
Laughing and teasing, such a nonsense act!
Yet it made me sad to realize
That these were now just a blur
A forgotten memory of a young love
I never had the courage to say I love you
‘Coz I’ve kept my feelings all by myself
Waiting for the right time to say out loud
But I guess fate has other plans
It led you into someone else’s
Now, here I am still wondering
How it would feel
To be in your arms, holding me close
Dreaming together, waiting for tomorrow.
IT wasn’t meant to be, I know
For my chances have been gone ages ago.

Miss Gay Q & A

December 26, 2010

It’s Christmas in the barrio! As usual, aside from the Christmas program held for the barangay people, purok fiestas slash Christmas program is expected to proceed after.  First to hold their purok fiesta slash Christmas program is Purok IV, our neighboring purok.  Hearing the crowd laughter echoing through the loud sound system, I got curious and decided to take a peep on what’s happening.  Luckily, I chanced to get on time to see the question and answer of their search for Little Miss Gay.
Here’s one funny Q&A:
Emcee:  Kung nakita mo yung ka-klase mo na nangongopya, ano ang gagawin mo?  Isusumbong mo ba o papabayaan mo?
Candidate No. 1: Isusumbong.
Emcee: Bakit mo isusumbong?
Candidate No. 1: Kasi nangongopya. (It makes sense noh?hehe!)

(the second candidate was called)
Emcee: Sino ang paborito mong bayani? Bakit?
Candidate No. 2: PIOLO! (toinks! The crowd went wild with laughter)
Emcee: Hindi artista, bayani.
Candidate: Bayani Agbayani! (toinks ulit!)
Emcee: (Already resigned of pointing the question) Bakit?
Candidate No. 2: KAsi magaling siya. (It really makes sense people!hehehe!)

A showtimer Kid!

My nephew is a two-year and four-months old…He’s adorable and he always have surprises to say or do.  I say surprises because sometimes he say or do things no one taught him.  He learned it by himself.
One tim while we were watching the prime time news, President Noynoy was flashed on the TV while he was answering some issues during a press conference.  My nephew pointed to the TV screen and said to her mother, “Pnoy, Mommy!”  Delighted by her comment, her Mommy told him, “Yes, anak that’s Pnoy, he is our President.”  And taking that moment to teach him, she asked, “Sino ang President natin?”.  My nephew said, “Pnoy, Mommy!”  Then again wanting to teach him some more, she asked, “e sino ang Vice?”  As immediately as her Mommy said the last word and with no hesitation, he blurted out “Ganda!”   (Vice Ganda!)
Hahahaha! He is a showtimer indeed!

Batchmates slash classmates slash friends!

I get the chance to bond with my high school classmates and batchmates this past December.    Many are called but only few have come,(“,), and guess what’s not so surprising? Attandance was dominated by the singles! The beautiful singles to be exact! (nyan!) Nonetheless, there were new old faces who attended the said Christmas party  like Rhianna, Jensen and Michelle.   The party was pretty full of talks and laughters, and of course, telltales!  And as usual the subjects are the “non-attendees”! !(hmmm…) hehehe! so, better not miss any class party slash reunion slash gathering, guys!
But there’s one thing I admire our batch slash class for.  We have changed so much but we actually didn’t so much! Confusing? O well, let me say it this way.  Sometimes, no matter how grown up people are, when they meet up with people whom they had their childhood or teen years, they tend to still act like as if those years were just like yesterday.  Even how changed people are, or how prestigious their positions or the company they work for at the moment, you still can’t help to consider them the way they used to be.  Or you can’t help to treat them the way you used to treat them.  Though, you don’t picture yourselves as bunch of high school teens, unknowingly, you still act the same.  You still think you can pull off some prank jokes  or throw some off remarks, and you know they will not hold grudges (or maybe a little,(“,)) for that.  It is in this moment that you become no one… no achievements, no titles…it is just what you were as a person that these teen-years-friends see.  They see you as unchanged person.  And I meant it in a good way.  Because sometimes, our career lives are entwined with formalities and rules that it feels so constricting and stressful.  So, it is a breather to be with people you can be informal with, goofy, wacky, clumsy (but in a responsible manner)… just become carefree for once … Just have fun! Laugh your heart out!  And you can still say to your friend slash classmate slash now turned a General maybe, who throws a nasty joke, “Whatever, Freak! Are you enjoying?!”
And these are my classmates slash batchmates slash my friends!
